GSN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS & GRANTS-IN-AID

The Georgia School Nutrition Foundation awards scholarships for undergraduate and graduate study and for grants-in-aid each year. This page provides a brief overview of the eligibility requirements and the application process. Scholarships and grants-in-aid are awarded twice each year.

Amounts Available:

Scholarships: $1,000 each. The number of Scholarships awarded is determined each year by the Foundation Trustees.

Grants-in-aid: $500 each. The number of Grants in aid awarded is determined each year by the Foundation Trustees.

WHO is eligible to apply?  

Those who are meet the following criteria:

  • Members of GSNA and SNA for 2 years
  • Currently SNA Certified or Credentialed
  • Grade Average of C or higher for undergraduate scholarships and B or higher for graduate scholarships
  • Children of GSNA Members (who meet the above criteria).

*Note: Children of members are not eligible for the Frances Coleman Griffin Scholarship 

*Note: All applicants must have completed 15 quarter hours or 9 semester hours of college credit.

 

 
WHEN are applications due? (Note NEW Fall due date.)

Members: By August 1st and/ or March 1st.

Children of Members: Once a year. March 1st.

 
HOW to apply: 

Members - Submit completed scholarship application form for MEMBERS with all attachments by either deadline. This includes the completed application form and the following attachments: (a) planned program of study (b) transcript of college credits or letter requesting transcripts to be sent to GSNA (c) two letters of recommendation (one from immediate supervisor).

Children of Members - Submit completed scholarship application form for CHILDREN with attachments by March 1. This includes the application form and the following attachments: (1) planned program of study or university statement of admission to a degree program (b) two letters of recommendation (c) transcript of college credits or letter requesting transcripts to be sent to GSNA.

Grant in Aid ($500.00)

*NOTE: Grants-in-aid may not be used for GSNA or SNA meetings or conferences registration.

WHO is eligible?: Those who have been GSNA and SNA members for 2 years and are currently SNA Certified or Credentialed.

WHEN are applications due?: Twice each year, August 1 and March 1.

HOW to apply?: Submit Completed Grant-in-aid application and materials by deadlines.
