January 2019 Newsletter

Miracle Makers,

I hope this message finds you basking in the memories of a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. The

New Year opens up new opportunities to serve our communities and students. How can we truly make this the best year ever in school nutrition and in the lives of our students?

New Year’s Resolution:  A New Year’s resolution is defined as a tradition, mainly observed in the Western Hemisphere, in which a person resolves to change behaviors or to accomplish a professional or personal goal that would improve one’s life. Many of us make those resolutions with all good intentions, but how many times do we really obtain those changes or goals. How different do you think this world would be if we all had the same resolution, to approach very things in our lives with kindness?

New Year, New Day: Isn’t it a blessing that we were given the gift of a New Year? Some may even say we are given a time to start over, a new beginning. The blessing of a New Year come with many challenges and opportunities, especially in the arena of education. We are truly blessed in our profession to serve the future and to make a difference in the so many lives each day.

So, miracle makers how can we make the most of these blessings? How can we change a student’s life through acts of service and kindness? What if you and I made a New Year’s Resolution to take each day and turn it into a chance to change a life in our school system, community, and family, oh how different this new year would look.

Therefore, Miracle Makers are you ready for the challenge. Ready, Set, Go! Happy New Year!

Nicole James, 2018-2019 President
