Message from the President

Meetings & Events Calendar

I hope you all are doing well. As I look at my thermometer, which currently sits at 96 degrees, it’s hard to believe it’s already October. We're half way through the first semester of the 2019-2020 school year and, wow! What a great one it has been so far! With cooler weather (hopefully) on the horizon, I want to take a moment to thank everyone for doing a great job and staying safe during Hurricane Dorian last month. It was inspiring to see how everyone was able to come together to assist those counties that were hit the hardest and is just another reminder of how dedicated our members are to serving our communities.

Additionally, I want to thank everyone who attended our Kick-Off Luncheon in Macon. The school and system level education sessions were outstanding, thank you to all of our wonderful presenters. It was amazing to connect with school nutrition professionals from across the state, hear your stories, and recognize your passion for what we do. One of the biggest highlights of the event was the delicious menu provided by our Student Chefs! Being able to showcase their efforts was a great addition to an overall successful event.

As always, I want to thank you all for the dedication, talent, energy and care you bring to your work and look forward to seeing you all at our GSNA Crop Show on October 23rd in Athens, GA! Thank you again and keep up the great work!

Congratulation to our 2019 Media Award winner, Margaret Johnson, School Nutrition Project Coordinator, Ware County. Margaret was nominated by Karen Skinner, Ware County.
